I thought all the "looney tunes" were our side of the Pond but after watching 2 episodes of the US version of the show I have realised they are all over.

The folk who think they are the best are usually the worst, they are also the ones winding up the judges before they have even sang a note.

Many don't realise how bad they are and their family and friends haven't had the courage to tell them and allowed them to go ahead and humiliate themselves on TV.

Next week the UK version has reached "judges houses" where 8 acts from each of the 4 categories go to spend a week with the judge who is to be their mentor for the series, each judge then has to pick 4 acts to go through to the live episodes of the series.

So far 3 acts have been dropped, one had a criminal record, another had uploaded porn to the internet and the third didn't turn up for rehersals as she didn't want to be the comedy act this year.

Does anyone else watch this?

I watched the first half of the first two days last week. Most of the "looney tunes" are just people trying to get on TV and they know acting like loons is the most likely way. I find that part of the auditions in all of these types of shows really tiresome. Though there was one lady that sang "I Touched Myself" last week that made me laugh so hard I almost wet myself. All in all, it's been no better or worse than Idol.

Nope - haven't seen it yet and by the sounds of it most likely not to. My "reality" show is Faceoff - the transformations are really cool even the worst looking ones.

My daughter is into Jersey Shore - I tried to watch it but had to turn it off - just another pointless show rewarding ignorance, disputes and partying..... I got into warehouse 13 which happens to come on at the same time and for the reruns - Alpha's. I am anticipating this season's House starting next week - its gotta be better than last season.....haven't missed an episode since its pilot - probably won't either as I have my kids trained to leave me alone for the hour. I just saw the new CSI Vegas and was shocked to see Ted Danson as the lead investigator - I think I can get into it again

We get some of the US shows here for free, others we have to pay for or get a cable deal that costs more but then you are paying for sport I wouldn't watch.

My favourites are NCIS, Mentalist, Medium, all the CSI's and Law & Orders, recently found Drop Dead Diva the third series and downloaded series 1 to see how it all started.

I tend to watch mainly catch up on my laptop rather than watching at the time it is broadcast.

I haven't watched it yet..kind of thinking it may not be a good idea to get too hooked on another show..I have my regular, sometimes seasonal, shows I do watch..Loved Idol when the main judges were on there, seems it lost all appeal when Simon left..mostly stick to all Law and Order (SVU), House, Grey's and then we have Tim's shows; Deadliest Catch, IRT, Pawn Stars, and all the other gross bug eating, wild challenging shows. Basically anything dangerous, gross or educational (says him)..
Rhona; do you get any of those channels with Man Vs Wild or any of those Animal Hoarding shows/Animal Rescue shows? I just recently did start watching those Animal Hoarding and Junk Hoarding shows...pretty unbelievable...

Oh goodness...if you can look shows up online and watch them, you should look up Confessions;Animal Hoarding..it comes on 184 (Animal Planet Channel)..it will blow your mind.. I have seen everything from hoarding rats (over like 2500 I think) running loose in a home..to a woman horading over 280+ cats running free in her home. The decrepid conditions these people let their home get to will make you sick..very interesting show on their sickness and treatment throughout the show..
