How are Quinn and Chloe doing in the showring? Ruth

I have had so much going on I usually only get on Facebook and spout off now a days, lol...Quinn loves the ring, Chloe doesn't like men touching her too much so she acts stand offish..Chloe will be coming home Friday and Quinn will be staying. He has been in the ring several times, but no points yet Judges aren't so keen on small standard creams, he is weighing about 16.5 and still is growing, as is Chloe... I will get to see him Friday and can not hardly wait!! He is going to be shown again this month, I hope he does good. Cindy says he is absolutely gorgeous, but is facing red standards and we all know who wins in that Fingers crossed for him.

Routing for you Jen. Chief is right on the 11 lb line and he takes RWD all the time, but having creme issues too, losing out to red mini dogs that Kaye & Vicki insist are not as nice. It will just take time and a nonbised against color judge, but they will both make it

So sorry Chloe didn't like showing-it's a disappointment when you know they're nice enough to win, but they just don't have the 'tude to make it in the ring. That was how I felt with Junie. Glad Quin is enjoying it though. I hadn't realized he'd grown so big-that may be one of the big counts against him, rather than just the color. A friend has a stunning black and tan dapple who has only earned a few single points, because he's huge for a mini, but not big enough to compete with the standards, either. It's tough out there!

Please post some recent pics of them! I understand the "attitude problem", remember how nervous Mo was? She actually would lose weight when showing and looked anorexic. Some just do not take to the ring and all the excitement of showing. I wish the best for you with both pups! Ruth

I am going to post pics when Chloe gets home Friday, Cindy says she stacks on a dime and is absolutely beautiful..it sucks really..Quinn is too big to be considered a mini, but not as big as the standards he is competing agaist either ..he also has taken reserve several times..but I am willing to keep putting him in and trying because he loves it so much. Chloe I am pulling because it just doesn't make sense to waste money when she is so moody with men. That sucks too because Cindy says she is the better built of the two.. I can't wait to see them.

Oh, it is the major problem..the judges don't know how to classify him-- mini or standard but I don't think they care much for the larger creams too much either though.

So why not just show to female judges?
You can pick and choose who to show to.

Really? Wow, I have always assumed Eric had that type coat since Stetson does. The coat definately comes partially from Sonny, (CH Han-Jo Sylmar Goldnugget) as I have seen him personally and he is a furball. Chief got it from him too. Now, my new boy, Bronson, also out of Sonny, has it. So, all of my cream boys, each from a brother out of Sonny, have that type coat. Actually, Chief and Bronson have too much coat and it is a bummer to groom Chief for the ring, lol. But, rather that than not enough

No, Ch.Erik never really had a thick and luxurious coat. At times his tail looked like a "rats tail", LOL. As he gets older his coat has filled in some much like his daughter Ch.Lettie. Ruth

Jenn sorry to hear that things haven't gone to plan in the ring.

I would have thought that you having mini and standards in the ring together size would not be a problem, colour shouldn't either as it is a recognised colour world wide these days.

I love seeing dachsies with a correct coat your side of the pond, it has beeb so rare in past years with so much coat crossing going on.

The hot weather may encourage a natural drop of their coat as happens here from winter going into summer.

Rhona he keeps taking RWD, but still no points:( I have Libby coming in season again and am going to hope and pray for a nice standard from her..I have a standard red male I am using on her that is about 25-26lbs and he is absolutely stunning and has a eye catching pedigree, Libby is up to about 22 lbs now, so I am hoping for some really nice larger standards this go around...I will try to snag his pedigree and take a few pics of the male in the next few days..still have Chloe's pics to take to post as well, but I started a job and have been so busy I usually only have enough time to creep in on Facebook from my mobile at work
